«We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our environmental protection team. You will job share with an officer who is currently on maternity leave and will be returning part-time in 2009. Your working days will be Mondays and Tuesdays, with the remaining hours being made up on one other day. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of environmental duties including noise, air quality management, general public health complaints and planning application consultations. Educated to degree level or equivalent in Environmental Health, you will have EHORB [Environmental Health Officer’s Registration Board] and be a member of the CIEH [Chartered Institute of Environmental Health]. A diploma in Acoustics or Environmental Protection would be advantageous. Applications will be considered from applicants qualifying by summer 2008. A current driving licence is also a prerequisite for this post. You may be required to participate in the Out of Hours Noise Control Service, which attracts additional remuneration of around £1,000 per annum, if and when there is a vacancy.»
